Rafe Judkins has signed an overall deal with Paramount Television Studios, Variety has learned.
Under the deal, Judkins will create, develop, and produce original scripted series for the studio.

of Rafe’s extraordinary writing and producing and am grateful he chose Paramount as his new creative home,” said Matt Thunell, president of Paramount Television Studios. “We are amazed by his ability to build immersive worlds, craft action-packed stories, and realize vibrant characters. We cannot wait to build with him.”
Judkins most recently developed the Amazon Prime Video series “The Wheel of Time,” on which he also served as executive producer and showrunner. Based on the fantasy book series created by Robert Jordan, the show was an epic fantasy drama featuring Rosamund Pike in a lead role. It aired for three seasons at Prime Video between 2021 and 2025.
“Right now is a time to take risks and be ambitious in television with the kind of stories we tell and the way we tell them, no matter how big or small,” Judkins said. “That’s the kind of television I want to make, and I feel lucky to have found partners at Paramount who are also looking to expand, take risks, and create something new. I’m honored and excited to be in at the ground floor for what Matt and his team are building.”
Aside from his work on “The Wheel of Time,” Judkins is known for working on shows like “Agents of SHIELD” at ABC, “Chuck” for NBC, and the Christian Slater series “My Own Worst Enemy,” also for NBC. In film, he wrote the screenplay for the “Uncharted” adaptation that starred Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as well as the upcoming Amazon feature “Foreign Relations” starring Glen Powell.
He is repped by CAA, Kaplan Perrone, and Hansen Jacobsen Teller.
This marks the latest overall deal Paramount TV Studios has entered into since it relaunched in the wake of the Skydance-Paramount merger. “Yellowjackets” creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson and Jessica Biel’s Iron Ocean production banner. Paramount also a deal with Liz Tigelaar across Paramount TV Studios and CBS Studios, while both Issa Rae and Jon M. Chu have Paramount deals across TV and film. “Stranger Things” creators Matt & Ross Duffer were the first to sign on, under a deal that covers film, TV, and direct-to-consumer.
