Eric Stonestreet is officially set to return for “Dexter: Resurrection” Season 2.
Stonestreet made a surprise appearance at the show’s New York Comic-Con panel on Thursday to make the announcement. Other panelists included
Michael C. Hall, Uma Thurman, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Bokeem Woodbine and Krysten Ritter, alongside showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, executive producers Scott Reynolds and Marcos Siega.
Stonestreet originally appeared in Season 1 of the series as Al Walker, a.k.a the serial killer Rapunzel. Like Dexter, Al was a part of the group of killers put together by Leon Prater. Dexter had intended to kill Al like he did with others in the group, but Al left New York and returned to his seemingly normal suburban life before Dexter could get to him.
“Dexter: Resurrection” Season 2 will debut on Oct. 30 on Paramount+ for those with the Premium Plan. The logline for Season 2 states that it finds Dexter “caught between two killers – one notorious and the other terrorizing New York in ways no one ever anticipated – all while battling his greatest enemy yet: a mid-life crisis. Harrison (Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter.”
As previously reported, Brian Cox is set to appear as The New York Ripper, while Dan Stevens will play The Five Borough Killer. Other Season 2 cast members include Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, and Gabriel Luna.
“Dexter: Resurrection” was developed by original series helmer Phillips, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer on the new series. Hall executive produces in addition to starring. Reynolds, Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns executive produce along with John Goldwyn and Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, and Tanner Bean & Katrina Mathewson. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios.
