With the release of “Street Fighter” in theaters, retro gaming company Arcade1Up
released a new cabinet for the very popular fighting arcade game “Street Fighter II.” If you grew up during the ’90s, then there’s a very good chance that you saw and played “Street Fighter II” when you went just about anywhere, including movie theaters, pizza shops, gas stations, and, of course, your local arcades.
And now, you can now play the hit arcade game at home. Available at Walmart, the Arcade1Up Street Fighter II Legacy Arcade Machine is a replica of the classic video game from Capcom, but with a modern twist. It has built-in Wi-Fi for online multiplayer, global leaderboards, behind the scenes footage of the game and other features.
It comes with various editions of the classic fighting game, such as “Street Fighter II: WorldWarrior,” “Street Fighter II: Champion Edition,” “Street Fighter II: Turbo,” “Super StreetFighter II: The New Challengers” and “Super Street Fighter II: Turbo.”
The arcade cabinet stands at just under five feet tall (with its included riser) and comes with a 17-inch LCD color monitor for impressive colors and graphics. It’s designed with a light-up marquee and faux-molded coin slots and doors. However, you don’t need to pump quarters in the arcade, you just keep playing the game to continue.
With its sleek and slim cabinet design and two-player joysticks and action buttons, Arcade1Up Street Fighter is ideal for a game room, home office or basement “man-cave.” It even has replica artwork that makes the machine look and feel as authentic to the original from the ’90s.
The “Supreme Edition” is also available at Sam’s Club, while the “World Warrior Edition” is sold at Wayfair.
