CMX Cinemas has acquired select iPic theater and restaurant locations in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Maryland and New Jersey. The locations will continue to operate under the iPic name, offering dine-in cinema experiences,
luxury seating and chef-driven food and beverage offerings, according to CMX.
The deal adds nine iPic locations to the CMX Cinemas portfolio including restaurant concepts The Tuck Room Gastro Lounge, City Perch Kitchen + Bar and Serena Pastificio.
“iPic has long stood for a distinctive moviegoing experience built on hospitality, premium comfort and culinary service,” said Rafael Munoz, Chief Executive Officer of CMX Cinemas. “As we welcome iPic into the CMX Cinemas portfolio, our priority is continuity for guests and team members. Guests should continue to experience iPic as iPic, with the same brand promise and elevated approach to hospitality.”
The same employees teams in theater and restaurant operations will remain for continuity, CMX said.

By combining the strengths of CMX and iPic, along with these unique restaurant brands, we can continue delivering experiences that bring guests together for movies, dining and social occasions.”
CMX will continue to honor iPic memberships, gift cards and rewards at the locations included in the transaction. Based in Miami, luxury theater chain CMX is a subsidiary of Cinemex and operates 30 locations with 299 screens.
Earlier in June, Blue Fox Entertainment announced it had acquired iPic locations in Los Angeles and New York. iPic Theaters filed for bankruptcy in March.
The locations that will be operated by CMX are:

• IPIC Fairview – Fairview, TX
• IPIC Austin – Austin, TX
• IPIC Atlanta and Serena Pastificio – Atlanta, GA
• IPIC Delray – Delray Beach, FL
• IPIC Mizner Park and Serena Pastificio – Boca Raton, FL
• IPIC North Miami Beach and The Tuck Room Gastro Lounge – North Miami Beach, FL
• IPIC North Bethesda at Pike & Rose and City Perch Kitchen + Bar – North Bethesda, MD
• IPIC Fort Lee at Hudson Lights and City Perch Kitchen + Bar – Fort Lee, NJ
