Broadway is gearing up for a star-studded season, with Hollywood heavyweights, buzzy West End transfers and a slate of high-profile revivals headed to New York stages through 2027.
Among the biggest draws are Julia Louis-Dreyfus,
making her Broadway debut alongside Ed Harris and Allison Janney in “Other Desert Cities”; Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell reuniting for a revival of Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing”; and Rosamund Pike bringing her acclaimed London performance in “Inter Alia” across the Atlantic. Rachel Zegler is also set to lead Jamie Lloyd’s revival of “Evita,” while Billy Crystal returns to the stage with a deeply personal one-man show.
Musicals are having a particularly big moment, with stage adaptations of Prince’s “Purple Rain” and the “Paddington” books joining revivals of “The Sound of Music” and “The Fantasticks.” Horror fans, meanwhile, can look forward to the Broadway arrival of “Paranormal Activity,” directed by “Sleep No More” creator Felix Barrett.
Below, find the best way to snag affordable tickets to this season’s current productions:
‘Paranormal Activity’

THEATER: August Wilson Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“Just as he did with Punchdrunk’s long-running date night phenom “Sleep No More,” director Felix Barrett creates an impressive otherworldly, immersive experience. But this time the audience is sitting in place, as he expertly guides the gasps like a sinister maestro, and offers an exhilarating funhouse night in the theater.”
‘School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play’
SYNOPSIS: Jocelyn Bioh’s acclaimed comedy makes its Broadway debut with Patina Miller, Denée Benton and Jasmine Amy Rogers among the cast. Set at an elite boarding school in Ghana, the play follows a group of teenage girls competing for the chance to represent their country in an international beauty pageant, exposing the complicated politics of friendship, popularity and beauty standards.
THEATER: Samuel J. Friedman Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play” is a joyous and gutting play centering the treasure of Black sisterhood, exceptionalism and the pain and anguish of putting your best foot forward and still falling short of someone much less qualified.”
‘The Imaginary Invalid’
SYNOPSIS: Tony Award winner Bill Irwin stars in a new adaptation of Molière’s classic comedy about a wealthy hypochondriac whose obsession with his health makes him an easy target for the scheming people around him. Irwin also adapted the play, with Brandon J. Dirden directing the Roundabout Theatre Company production.
THEATER: Todd Haimes Theatre

Set during a tense Christmas reunion in Palm Springs, the play follows a daughter whose plans to publish a revealing memoir threaten to expose long-buried family secrets.
THEATER: Hudson Theatre
‘860’
SYNOPSIS: Billy Crystal returns to Broadway with a deeply personal one-man show inspired by the loss of his longtime Pacific Palisades home in the devastating 2025 Los Angeles wildfires. Directed by Scott Ellis, the autobiographical production blends comedy and reflection as the actor looks back on decades of family memories, love and loss.
THEATER: Imperial Theatre
‘Operation Mincemeat’
SYNOPSIS: The Olivier and Tony Award-winning British musical comedy follows an outrageous real-life World War II intelligence operation involving a corpse, forged documents and a plot to fool the Nazis. After transferring from London’s West End in March 2025, the Broadway production now features Brandon Contreras, Jessi Kirtley, Julia Knitel, Jeff Kready and Amanda Jill Robinson.
THEATER: Golden Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “Think of it as Monty Python on speed, and then throw in some Ealing Studio wit and a bit of ‘Beyond the Fringe’ slyness. Too British? Not if you want to laugh uproariously — and perhaps even unexpectedly shed a tear or two.”
‘A Few Good Men’
SYNOPSIS: Aaron Sorkin’s military courtroom drama returns to Broadway in a new production starring Bradley Whitford and Tom Blyth. Directed by Michael Arden, the revival follows a young Navy lawyer investigating the suspicious death of a Marine at Guantanamo Bay, uncovering a culture of secrecy and abuse within the military.
THEATER: Vivian Beaumont Theater
VARIETY REVIEW:“The pace of the Sorkinian banter is meaningful beyond its showiness. It reflects the characters’ intelligence — though they’re at odds, none is the dumb one.”
‘Wanted’
SYNOPSIS: Inspired by the true story of two formerly enslaved sisters, the new musical follows Mary and Martha Clarke as they devise a daring plan to pay off their mother’s sharecropping debt and save her home. Directed by Christopher Gattelli, the revival updates the beloved romantic fable about two young lovers whose families secretly scheme to bring them together.
THEATER: Hayes Theater
‘Much Ado About Nothing’
SYNOPSIS: Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell star as Shakespeare’s famously sparring lovers Benedick and Beatrice in Jamie Lloyd’s revival of the romantic comedy. Following a London run, the production brings the pair’s battle of wits, romantic misunderstandings and elaborate matchmaking schemes to Broadway.
THEATER: Winter Garden Theatre
‘Galileo’
SYNOPSIS: Raúl Esparza stars as astronomer Galileo Galilei in a new musical about the scientist whose revolutionary discoveries put him at odds with the Catholic Church. Featuring a book by Danny Strong and music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak and Michael Weiner, the production arrives on Broadway following its 2024 premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre.
THEATER: Shubert Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “The conception of Galileo himself as Renaissance cock-rocker, endlessly pleased with himself — he seems dressed for tomcatting in Anita Yavich’s costumes — might’ve worked in the hands of a performer and show more humorously self-aware. But Esparza’s committed turn doesn’t lend that narcissism much saving irony.”
‘Inter Alia’
SYNOPSIS: Rosamund Pike makes her Broadway debut in Suzie Miller’s legal drama, playing a respected London judge whose carefully balanced personal and professional lives unravel after a devastating family crisis. Directed by Justin Martin, the play arrives in New York following its acclaimed London premiere.

Schlatter and directed by Bartlett Sher, the show traces the country music legend’s journey from her childhood in Tennessee to international superstardom.

‘Awake and Sing!’
SYNOPSIS: Danny Burstein, Micaela Diamond and Jessica Hecht lead a revival of Clifford Odets’ Depression-era family drama. Set in a cramped Bronx apartment, the play follows a working-class Jewish family struggling with financial hardship, generational tensions and the pursuit of the American Dream.
THEATER: Samuel J. Friedman Theatre
‘Evita’
SYNOPSIS: Rachel Zegler makes her Broadway debut as Eva Perón in Jamie Lloyd’s stripped-down revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical. Following its London run, the production traces the Argentine First Lady’s rise from poverty to political power, featuring songs including “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.”
THEATER: Winter Garden Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“This is, undoubtedly, a technically flawless achievement. And no one will complain about not knowing where their ticket price cash has been spent. But dazzling though it is, there’s something faintly decadent about abandoning the depth of Rice and Lloyd Webber’s strongest achievement for a thrill-ride display.”
‘Purple Rain’
SYNOPSIS: Prince’s iconic 1984 film and album become a Broadway musical following a premiere in the late musician’s hometown of Minneapolis. Directed by Saheem Ali, the production follows an ambitious young musician known as The Kid as he navigates family turmoil, romantic rivalries and the Minneapolis music scene, set to Prince’s legendary songs.

Directed by Evan Cabnet, the production follows a group of young publishing professionals whose competition for career advancement takes a disturbing turn after a workplace tragedy.
THEATER: Hayes Theater
VARIETY REVIEW:The humor is dark and cruel, but terribly funny — until it suddenly isn’t. At which point, the comedy jumps the rails and doesn’t get back on track — until it suddenly does.
‘The Sound of Music’
SYNOPSIS: Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical returns to Broadway in a new revival directed by Lear deBessonet and starring Jasmine Amy Rogers. THEATER: Al Hirschfeld Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:Furry, funny and fully-formed, the much-anticipated “Paddington” musical has finally arrived and it’s alive not only with joy but that vanishingly rare theatrical quality: completely beguiling charm.
‘The Full Monty’
SYNOPSIS: The Tony-nominated musical comedy returns to Broadway in a revival directed by Leigh Silverman. Based on the 1997 British film, the show follows six unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, N.Y., who decide to put on a strip show to make ends meet, discovering unexpected confidence and camaraderie along the way.
THEATER: Todd Haimes Theatre
‘Oh, Mary!’
SYNOPSIS: “Saturday Night Live” star Bowen Yang takes on the role of Mary Todd Lincoln in Cole Escola’s irreverent, Tony-winning Broadway comedy. The 80-minute show follows a miserable, booze-soaked First Lady who dreams of becoming a cabaret star while cooped up in the White House during the Civil War.
WHERE: Lyceum Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “’Oh, Mary!’ is at once campy and complex, a manic bit of extended sketch comedy, but also an unequivocally queer play in which the female characters are played by a trans woman and a nonbinary actor, and the iterations of masculinity are rather gay.”
‘Buena Vista Social Club’
SYNOPSIS: A musical about the Cuban artists behind the “Buena Vista Social Club,” an internationally-recognized album of the country’s most popular musical stylings, opened on Broadway in March 2025.
WHERE: Schoenfeld Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“Entering ‘Buena Vista Social Club’ is like stepping into a heady world of the senses, of heightened emotions, and of passionate music and dance. The Social Club was a real place for locals in Havana in the ’50s. Decades later, its music became the source of a Grammy-winning album, then a popular film — and now it’s the most intoxicating and rapturous show of the Broadway season.
‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’
SYNOPSIS: Set decades before the events of the “Stranger Things” TV series, “The First Shadow” takes place in the fictional town of Hawkins, Ind. as the Creel family seeks a fresh start, especially Henry, who is eager to escape his troubled past. But when a wave of shocking crimes strikes Hawkins, Henry is forced to consider whether he may have something to do with it.
WHERE: Marquis Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“The show delivers on the spectacle, big time, thanks to the wizardry of the illusions and visual effects designers Jamie Harrison and Chris Fisher — and to the show’s staggering budget. (Netflix is a major producer of the show.)”
Just in Time
SYNOPSIS: The immersive Broadway musical charts the life and career of singer Bobby Darin, with Jeremy Jordan currently starring in the title role. Matthew Morrison takes over Oct. 20, followed by Nicholas Christopher on Nov. 10. Featuring a live band and Darin hits including “Splish Splash,” “Beyond the Sea” and “Mack the Knife,” the show transforms Circle in the Square Theatre into an intimate nightclub.
WHERE: Circle in the Square Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “Director Alex Timbers and the book writers fail to go beyond the concert conceit, and never give us a real portrait of Darin or leave us with a clear idea of what we are supposed to think of him.”
‘Maybe Happy Ending’
SYNOPSIS: The Tony-winning South Korean musical, starring Zachary Noah Piser and Hannah Kevitt, follows two helper robots navigating love and memory. The production opened at the Belasco Theatre in November 2024 with original stars Darren Criss and Helen J. Shen.
THEATER: Belasco Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “’Maybe Happy Ending’ is an undeniably moving, well-made, adorable musical, and it is a pleasant surprise to see an audience weep at a show about two robots in love.”
‘The Outsiders’
SYNOPSIS: The Tony-winning musical adaptation of S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film follows a group of working-class teenage “greasers” in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as they navigate friendship, loyalty and a bitter rivalry with the privileged “Socs.” The production currently stars Noah Pacht as Ponyboy Curtis, Dan Berry as Darrel Curtis, Sutton James Kaylor as Sodapop Curtis, Caleb Mathura as Johnny Cade and SeQuoiia as Dallas Winston.
WHERE: Jacobs Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“The production only intermittently rises to the challenge of transforming such familiar material into theater that feels both original and necessary. It packs plenty of heart and soul, but lacks a strong pulse.”
‘The Great Gatsby’
SYNOPSIS: The musical adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel now stars Ryan McCartan as Jay Gatsby and China Anne McClain as Daisy Buchanan, alongside Corbin Bleu as Nick Carraway. Set amid the excess of the Roaring Twenties, the production brings the doomed romance to Broadway with a score by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen.
WHERE: The Broadway Theater
VARIETY REVIEW:“For any fan of ‘The Great Gatsby’ it’s likely you’ll have moments of wanting more, of missing out on all the subtext, grit, and suffering beneath the sequins.”
‘& Juliet’
SYNOPSIS: Created by the Emmy-winning writer of “Schitt’s Creek,” this acclaimed musical-comedy imagines what would happen if Shakespeare’s Juliet didn’t “end it all over Romeo.”
WHERE: Stephen Sondheim Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“’& Juliet’ is exactly the show Broadway needs right now: fun, exuberant, supremely joyful, hilarious, and excellently performed by a talented and diverse cast. The amount of confetti may be gratuitous (they seem to be trying to outdo “Moulin Rouge!”), but honestly, why not?”
‘MJ’
SYNOPSIS: The Tony-winning jukebox musical traces Michael Jackson’s career through rehearsals for his 1992 Dangerous World Tour, featuring nearly 40 songs from his catalog, including “Billie Jean,” “Beat It” and “Thriller.” Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, the production opened on Broadway in 2022.
WHERE: Neil Simon Theater
VARIETY REVIEW:“Packed with nearly 40 hits from Michael Jackson’s irresistible catalogue, the Broadway production from director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon is not so much a biomusical as a high-shine and surface-skimming rehabilitation tour for its late subject, flattening rather than reckoning with his complex legacy.”
‘Six: The Musical’
SYNOPSIS: After earning a million dollars during its first week of previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, “Six” was hours away from officially opening before the COVID-19 shutdown went into effect on March 12. This wildly original stage production is like watching a pop concert starring the six ex-wives of Henry VIII.
WHERE: Lena Horne Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“Audience interest in this competitive concert concept could easily wear out its welcome but the musical variety, bite-sized storytelling and unstoppable performances keep the entertainment level high as the musical subversively builds in emotional depth.”
‘Wicked’
SYNOPSIS: A prequel of sorts to “The Wizard of Oz,” “Wicked” recounts the happenings in Oz before Dorothy sauntered down the yellow brick road and tells the story of how a green-skinned woman named Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. With classic songs like “Defying Gravity” and “Popular,” it’s one of the most beloved shows on Broadway.
WHERE: Gershwin Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“‘Wicked’ is stridently earnest one minute, self-mocking the next; a fantastical allegory about the perils of fascism in one scene, a Nickelodeon special about the importance of inner beauty in another.”
‘Hadestown’
SYNOPSIS: The Tony-winning musical, written by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell. The acclaimed show is a love story at its heart, following the mythical tales of two intertwining couples, Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone.
WHERE: Walter Kerr Theater
VARIETY REVIEW:“The storytelling is spare, but the visuals say it all, helped along by the melodious voice and slip-sliding dance moves of the indomitable André De Shields as the swift-footed god Hermes, as well as by the three gorgeous, golden-throated Fates played by Jewelle Blackman, Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer and Kay Trinidad.”
‘Aladdin’
SYNOPSIS: The musical based on the 1992 Disney animated film at Broadway’s New Amsterdam Theatre
WHERE: New Amsterdam Theatre
‘Chicago’
SYNOPSIS: The longest-running American musical in Broadway history has returned with the razzle dazzle. The Tony-winning revival tells the story of two women in Chicago who will use absolutely anything at their disposal to stay on the front page of the local newspaper, from behind prison bars.
WHERE: Ambassador Theatre
‘Hamilton’
SYNOPSIS: Lin Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop musical tribute to one of our illustrious Founding Fathers was an immediate sensation upon its 2015 debut, and it’s still going strong on Broadway with a new cast. If you can’t make it in person, Disney+ has a live recording of the production with the original cast, including Miranda.
WHERE: Richard Rodgers Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “Like any true landmark, ‘Hamilton’ stands up to repeated viewings. After six months, the show’s initial impact hasn’t dulled a bit; in fact, the qualities that made it so extraordinary the first time around are all the more striking.”
‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’
SYNOPSIS: Based on an original story written by J.K Rowling, this adapted play takes place 19 years after the events of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”
WHERE: Lyric Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW:“Best of all, there’s a set of bookcases in the Hogwarts library that keep swallowing and spitting out unwary readers. But for all its inventive stagecraft devices, the show has a plot that really works as an extension of the Potter saga.”
‘The Lion King’
SYNOPSIS: King Mufasa, Simba, Scar and the rest of the animals from the Pride Lands of Africa.
WHERE: Minskoff Theatre
‘The Book of Mormon’
SYNOPSIS: This hilarious, Tony-winning musical follows two Latter-day Saints missionaries as they attempt to preach the teachings of their religion to a the inhabitants of a remote Ugandan village.
WHERE: Eugene O’Neill Theatre
VARIETY REVIEW: “The cast shows no evidence of being second tier, and production values are as lavish and performance style as crisp as at the show’s nativity. As long as you don’t go expecting the Second Coming, you’re unlikely to be let down by this breathlessly funny, solidly crafted musical satire.”
