John Gore Studios, the fast-growing U.K. film and TV business set up by theater impresario John Gore, has announced that it’s to join forces with its U.S.-based sister company The John Gore Organisation under the common
control of single holding company.
The move, it claims, will “facilitate coordination between the companies and will bring their respective film, television and theatrical businesses under a common strategic vision.”
Each of the companies will be under the executive leadership of owner-founder Gore, who has spent more than $100 million in building John Gore Studios, acquiring production, IP, distribution and sales business, as well as the famed Angels Costumes.
As part of the move, Hilary Strong will step down as CEO of John Gore Studios. Strong, an established industry veteran, joined in Jan. 2025 after leading Agatha Christie Ltd, where she helped revamp the writer’s literary estate in to a major film and TV property.
“Hilary and the team took the business from zero to seven feature films in 18 months, which must be a record — all the while burnishing the legacy of Hammer Films and expanding into new technologies and complementary businesses to pave a path for the future,” said Gore. “I am extremely grateful to Hilary for the significant role she has played in the launch of John Gore Studios and excited about this next chapter.”
Added Strong: “I have adored my time working with John and the wonderful team we have put together to create John Gore Studios, and I will always be grateful to John for the opportunity, but we have both agreed that, with the reshaping of the global business, my work here is done. I wish the team every success for the future.”
