For the first time ever, YouTube’s “Dead Meat” team is adding a ticketed live-stream event to their annual horror awards show.
Created by James A. Janisse and Chelsea Rebecca, the husband-and-wife duo behind the popular
YouTuber channel “Dead Meat,” the pre-taped 5th Annual Dead Meat Horror Awards will debut on YouTube on July 18 and simultaneously screen at the Pacific Electric in Los Angeles.
In attendance at the in-person event, which will also include a red carpet, will be the “Dead Meat” team and the awards’ presenters. Additionally, some winners will be there to accept in person alongside the live-stream.
“Dead Meat” describes its Horror Awards as “an annual celebration of the past year’s best horror films, created as a response to the way mainstream award shows tend to overlook the genre,” noting “awards are given in traditional categories such as Best Director and Best Leading Performance, as well as horror-specific categories such as Best Villain and Best Kill, and presented by notable creatives in the horror space.
The decision to create a live-stream event for this year’s “Dead Meat” awards comes as new hit horror movies including “Obsession” and “Backrooms” are creating immense buzz about the horror creator community on YouTube, where filmmakers like Curry Barker and Kane Parsons originated.
Presenters at this year’s show will include Charlotte Creaghan, David Dastmalchian, Kane Hodder, David Howard Thorton, Radio Silence and Hana Mae Lee.
Information on when and where tickets can be bought for the 2026 Dead Meat Horror Awards screening will be announced soon.
