Variety announced today that Olivia Rodrigo, KATSEYE, and SIENNA SPIRO will be honored at its 10th Annual Hitmakers Celebration in Los Angeles in December.
Olivia Rodrigo will receive the Songwriter of the Year Award;
KATSEYE will receive the Group of the Year Award; and SIENNA SPIRO will receive the Visionary Voice Award.
Variety‘s Hitmakers event and its companion issue acclaim the year in music, honoring the songwriters, producers, publishers, managers and executives behind the 25 most-consumed songs of the year, according to Billboard and Luminate charts. The celebration culminates in an invitation-only brunch in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 5, with TikTok, the world’s leading destination for music discovery and cultural connection, serving as the event’s Premier Partner.
Olivia Rodrigo has become one of music’s most iconic voices, and turns heartbreak and growing pains into generational anthems. Her 2021 debut album, “SOUR,” launched with the record-breaking tracks “drivers license” and “good 4 u,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and won her 3 Grammy Awards for best new artist, best pop vocal album and pop solo performance. Rodrigo followed up “SOUR” with “GUTS” in 2023 and “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love” in 2026. Her entire discography has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, with “YSPSFAGSIL” earning Rodrigo the largest single week of sales for any solo artist in 2026. Rodrigo launched her inaugural women led music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, this past August and raised $20 million for 10 non-profit organizations dedicated to advancing and advocating for women and girls. She’s currently on her sold out and record-breaking tour, The Unraveled Tour, which began this past September and will run through May 2027.
KATSEYE is a two-time GRAMMY nominated, three-time American Music Award winning global girl group formed through HYBE and Geffen Records. Blending global pop influences with K-pop’s precision-driven performance style, the group has emerged as a defining force in modern pop. Their third EP, “WILD,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking the biggest U.S. girl-group debut in nearly 20 years and featuring the Billboard Hot 100 hits “PINKY UP,” “Animal” and “Hootie Frutti.” Following their Coachella debut, KATSEYE launched their first global arena tour, which sold out within 48 hours. Their theatrical film, “KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS,” reached audiences in more than 60 countries and is now streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.
SIENNA SPIRO is a show-stopping vocal talent with uncompromising vision, transforming her most privately felt pain into something communal and cathartic. Since the fall 2025 debut of her global breakout hit“Die On This Hill,” the 21-year-old has captivated audiences with songs exploring the ephemeral nature of love, pairing her breathtaking voice with an elegant collision of soul and symphonic pop. By early 2026, SIENNA lodged all three of her singles on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously, with“You Stole The Show” and“The Visitor” joining “Die On This Hill.” Her debut album “Visitor,” out now via Capitol Records, earned widespread critical acclaim and debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200. SIENNA won Best New Artist at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards and inspired a standing ovation with a performance of her new single “Great Expectation,” which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. Her sold-out global “My House” headline tour recently expanded due to demand with a second North American leg launching August 2027 with all dates selling out instantly — and on July 10, she will perform with RAYE at the BST Hyde Park festival in the heart of London.
“The 2026 Hitmakers honorees have shaped the sound and business of music in countless ways,” said Variety’s Executive Editor, Music Jem Aswad. “Their creativity, vision, and relentless drive are creating the soundtracks for so many lives. We look forward to honoring them all in December!”
