Jay-Z has announced additional dates for London and Los Angeles following his three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium earlier this month.
The rapper has tacked on a second date at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where
he will perform on September 4 and 5, as well as Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, with shows set for October 23 and 24. He also has a concert scheduled in between at Paris’ Stade de France on September 10.
The extra shows come amid an active year for Jay-Z, who made a grand return to the stage earlier this year with a headlining performance at the Roots Picnic in Philadelphia. During that performance, he toured his catalog and brought out a slew of native guests including Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Memphis Bleek, Jazmine Sullivan, Bilal and Young Gunz.
Earlier in July, he took over Yankee Stadium for a back-to-back trio of concerts at the venue. The first night honored the 30th anniversary of his seminal debut “Reasonable Doubt,” while the second celebrated the 25th anniversary of “The Blueprint” and the third expanded the purview under the banner of “Extra Innings.” During the shows, he brought out a slew of guests including Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, Eminem, Pharrell Williams, Rihanna, Fat Joe, Swizz Beatz, Slick Rick and more.
Amid his busy year, Jay-Z is set to sit down with Rick Rubin for the eight-part documentary series “Jay-Z in 8,” debuting on HBO this fall. Rubin is directing the series and will interview the rapper about his music, lyrics, life experiences and creative process.
