Netflix has dropped a first look at Jenna Ortega in “Wednesday” Season 3 as the streamer announced that production has officially wrapped.
Ortega stars as Wednesday Addams in the Tim Burton-directed series that launched
in 2022. Season 2 debuted last year in two parts released in August and September. The first four-episode half garnered 50 million views in its first five days, equal to the launch of Season 1 — which is Netflix’s most-watched English language series of all time and No. 2 worldwide behind “Squid Game Season 1. “Wednesday” Season 2 ended as the No. 10 most-watched title of all time on Netflix.
The cast includes Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Emma Myers as werewolf Enid Sinclair, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Joy Sunday, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Billie Piper, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Victor Dorobantu, Evie Templeton, Joanna Lumley and Andrew McCarthy.
Season 3 will introduce Eva Green as Ophelia Frump, Morticia’s sister and Wednesday’s aunt. It will also reunite Winona Ryder with her “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” co-star Ortega and director Burton. Fellow newcomers include Lena Headey, James Lance, Oscar Morgan, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor and Kennedy Moyer.
The new season was shot in Paris and Dublin. Season 2 ended with Ortega’s Wednesday setting off with her Uncle Fester to rescue Enid from being trapped as an alpha werewolf.
The show is based on characters created by Charles Addams. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar developed the show and serve as executive producers and showrunners. Tim Burton serves as director and executive producer. MGM Television is the studio.
