For years, it’s been rumored that Nathan Fielder had been interviewing Theranos founder (and certified huckster) Elizabeth Holmes — including visiting her in prison — for a top-secret documentary.
And on Sunday night,
that documentary premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.
Titled “You Can See Everything,” the film is billed as follows:
Thirty-four days before she’s sent to prison, notorious Silicon Valley founder Elizabeth Holmes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move. What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-bending three-year journey into the abyss. From boundary-pushing directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim comes ‘You Can See Everything.’
Fielder is, of course, the comedic force behind the hit series “Nathan For You” and “The Rehearsal,” while Oppenheim is the acclaimed documentary filmmaker behind “Some Kind of Heaven” and the recent Robert Pattinson-starring Chris Hansen film “Primetime,” which just premiered to raves in Venice. “You Can See Everything” is an A24 film that will hit theaters sometime in October, and the studio also dropped a teaser-trailer for the film to coincide with its secret screening at the Colorado film fest.
The trailer sees Fielder and Holmes locking eyes intensely, sizing each other up.
“I don’t have anything to deceive you on,” Holmes tells him. “Of course I’m not deceiving you. I’m engaging with you as a human being. Why would I deceive you? There’s no reason for me to do that.”
“OK. Alright. OK, good chat,” Fielder replies, before adding, “You’re being real right now?”
“I’m always being real,” she says.
