What's Happening?
The UK government has announced a significant commitment to support Ukraine's defense capabilities with a package worth over £500 million ($681 million). This announcement was made by UK Defence Secretary John Healey during the 33rd Ukraine Defence Contact
Group meeting at NATO headquarters in Brussels. The package includes £150 million allocated for the NATO Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), which is designed to expedite the delivery of air defense interceptors to Ukraine. Additionally, the UK will supply 1,000 Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMMs) produced in Belfast as part of a £390 million agreement. This support comes in response to ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and residential areas.
