What's Happening?
Taiwan's National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) has announced plans to co-produce two autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) with Anduril Industries. The Copperhead C-500M and Dive-LD AUVs were showcased at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) 2025. The collaboration aims to tailor these vehicles to meet the specific requirements of Taiwan's military. The Dive-LD, designed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, can operate underwater for up to 10 days and reach depths of 6,000 meters. The agreements for these projects are expected to be signed by the end of 2025, although details on the contract value and the number of units remain classified.
