QinetiQ Secures Contract for Royal Navy Operational Staff Training

What's Happening?

QinetiQ has been awarded a contract to provide the Royal Navy's Maritime Command and Staff Training (MCAST) capability. The contract, valued at GBP25 million (USD34 million), spans five years with options for two additional years. This decision followed a competitive process between QinetiQ and MASS, the current holder of the UK Joint CAST contract. The training will cater to various operational staffs within the Royal Navy, including the Commander UK Strike Force, Carrier Strike Group, Littoral Strike Group, and mine warfare staff. QinetiQ's subsidiary, Inzpire, will handle exercise planning and delivery, while MASA will provide the Sword simulation customized for MCAST. Additional contributions will come from 4C Strategies with its Exonaut software, and other minor providers will simulate media environments.
