What's Happening?
Lebanon's Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) has issued a Call for Expression of Interest (EOI) for new electricity generation projects, including up to five grid-connected solar PV projects totaling 350 MWp. These projects will be paired with Battery
Energy Storage Systems (BESS) totaling 1,000 MWh. The initiative also includes distributed dual-fired thermal plants using natural gas and Heavy Fuel Oil. The ERA aims to identify technically and financially qualified developers through this EOI, which will guide subsequent licensing and project implementation phases.
