Delaware has introduced a new training program aimed at equipping state employees with skills in artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure responsible and effective use of AI technology in government operations.
The training, titled 'Responsible AI for Public Professionals,' is developed by InnovateUS, a nonprofit initiative associated with the Burnes Center for Social Change at Northeastern University and The Governance Lab. The Delaware Department of Human Resources (DHR) has collaborated with InnovateUS to make this training available through the Delaware Learning Center, an online platform for state employees. The program is designed to support the mission of the Delaware AI Commission, established in July 2024, which aims to guide AI adoption by recommending executive and legislative actions, developing agency guidelines, and promoting responsible AI use.
