Tom Froehle, a seasoned legal professional with a 38-year career, has been appointed as Indiana University's chief legal officer. Starting on August 17, Froehle will manage the university's legal strategy, oversee in-house and external legal counsel,
and advise on governance, policy development, and risk management. He will also supervise the offices of civil rights compliance, university compliance, and internal audit. Froehle's career includes significant roles at Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, where he led major mergers and helped the firm grow into one of the largest in the nation. His experience in public finance law has seen him involved in major economic development projects in Indiana.
