Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma, Washington, has opened a new six-story facility dedicated to providing high-acuity services and specialty care for children. The 262,114-square-foot building is designed to support a full continuum of care, particularly
for children with chronic conditions requiring complex, coordinated care. As the only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in western Washington, the hospital aims to reduce the travel burden on families by concentrating pediatric specialties within a single city block. The facility includes 82 inpatient beds, a 29-exam-room emergency department, and eight operating rooms, among other features. The hospital's design incorporates child-centered interiors inspired by Pacific Northwest landscapes to enhance comfort and healing.
