What's Happening?
The U.S. Army has selected REalloys to build a facility for processing rare earth elements, dysprosium and terbium, at Utah's Tooele Army Depot. This initiative marks the first time the Army has hosted commercial mineral processing on a U.S. installation.
The facility aims to strengthen the domestic supply chain for critical minerals used in defense applications, such as high-performance magnets in weapons and electronics. The project is part of a broader effort to reduce reliance on foreign sources, particularly China, which dominates the global rare earth market.
