The Vijayawada district administration organized a 5-kilometer run to promote public participation in the Census 2027 self-enumeration drive. Joint Collector S Ilakkiya, along with Self-Enumeration JD Prasanna Kumar, flagged off the event, urging residents
to actively engage in the first phase of the census, which is open until April 30. This initiative marks the first time self-enumeration has been introduced in the census process, allowing citizens to enter their details online to ensure accurate data collection. The census will be conducted in two phases: the House Listing and Housing Census from April to September 2026, and the Population Enumeration in February 2027. The self-enumeration process aims to save time and provide error-free data, with enumerators verifying the information during physical checks.
