What's Happening?
The Utah Avalanche Center is offering a Snowshoe Backcountry 101 course designed to educate snowshoers on avalanche safety. This course includes a two-hour evening classroom session and an eight-hour on-snow field day. Participants will learn about avalanche rescue,
snowpack assessment, and safe travel protocols. The course is accredited by the American Avalanche Association and aims to provide a solid foundation for safer mountain travel. It is specifically tailored for snowshoers, with a focus on hands-on learning and real-world application. Participants will have access to a Student Portal for course materials and planning tools.
