Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) and Energy Vault have successfully launched a hybrid microgrid project in Calistoga, California. This project, known as the Calistoga Resiliency Center, integrates hydrogen fuel cells with lithium-ion batteries to provide a sustainable power solution. The microgrid is designed to support the community during Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) and other extreme weather events, offering at least 48 hours of continuous power supply with a peak output of 8.5 MW. This initiative aligns with California's Renewable Portfolio Standard and aims to enhance power resiliency amidst increasing wildfire risks.
