Sänger, who is the director for European and international affairs at Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels in Germany, has been a member of the IPA’s Freedom to Publish Committee for eight years. She also chaired the IPA’s Copyright Committee from 2019 to 2024. The Freedom to Publish Committee is responsible for monitoring global freedom to publish issues and administering the Prix Voltaire, a prestigious award recognizing courage in upholding freedom of expression.
