What's Happening?
Two semi-trucks were involved in separate crashes on Interstate 80 near mile marker 388, west of Lincoln, Nebraska, early Tuesday morning. Seward County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at 4:22 a.m. after an eastbound semi and trailer crashed
into multiple concrete barriers, rendering it nonfunctional in the roadway. Shortly after, a second eastbound semi also collided with multiple concrete barriers and overturned, subsequently catching fire and coming to rest on the roadway west of the initial crash site. Both drivers were evaluated at the scene, and the driver of the semi that caught fire was transported to Bryan West Medical Center by Malcolm Fire and Rescue with non-life-threatening injuries. The eastbound lanes of I-80 were closed for six miles, starting at the Milford exit (mile marker 382), but have since reopened.
