What's Happening?
N3X Labs, a defense startup based in Pune, India, has developed a new concept for launching unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) aimed at reducing the vulnerability of launch crews in contested environments. The 'shoot-and-scoot' tactic allows personnel to
quickly relocate after launching UAVs, minimizing exposure to counter-attacks. The concept involves mounting the launcher on a High Mobility Vehicle (HMV), enabling rapid deployment and displacement. Initially designed for N3X's Wrath UAV, the concept can be adapted for other UAVs. The Wrath UAV is used for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and targeting. Key engineering decisions include a modular quick-swap magazine architecture and decoupled fire-control functions, enhancing operational flexibility and reducing crew training requirements.
