The Environmental Working Group (EWG) has released its annual 'Dirty Dozen' list, identifying fruits and vegetables most likely to contain pesticide residues. According to the EWG, strawberries top the list, followed by spinach, kale, collard and mustard
greens, grapes, and peaches. The list is based on an analysis of 47,510 samples of 46 fruits and vegetables tested by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Agriculture. The EWG's findings indicate that more than 95% of samples of strawberries, apples, cherries, spinach, nectarines, and grapes tested positive for residues of two or more pesticides.
