Uniting NSW.ACT has introduced a new application named 'Buddy' to streamline administrative tasks for its care workers using generative AI technology. Built with the Azure OpenAI Service, Buddy allows
care workers to record in-home visits and access internal policy information via mobile devices, significantly reducing the time spent on administrative tasks. The application also integrates with Uniting's intranet and enterprise systems, such as human resources and payroll, which previously required logging in from a company center. The initiative aims to free up time for care workers to focus more on customer care, enhancing the quality of service provided to Uniting's 160,000 customers, including 118,000 receiving home care.
