The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nigeria has announced that 65 out of 69 ambassadors appointed by President Bola Tinubu have been accepted by their host countries. This represents a 97 percent acceptance rate. However, there are still pending acceptances
for four ambassadors. The delay is attributed to various reasons, including the death of Mohammed Mahmud Lele, the ambassador-designate for Algeria, and Grace Bent declining the offer for Togo. Additionally, Reno Omokri, appointed to Mexico, and Olumilua Oluwayimika Ayotunwa, appointed to Japan, are still awaiting acceptance. The Ministry has assured that diplomatic processes are ongoing and expects resolutions soon.
