What's Happening?
Florida Realtors, through its Education Foundation Inc., has announced the continuation of its Student Scholarship Program, which has been in operation for 16 years. The program has awarded nearly $3 million
in scholarships to 2,203 students. This initiative is open to students whose parents are Realtors or licensed real estate practitioners, or are employed by any local Realtor board/association or by Florida Realtors. Additionally, any Florida high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student is eligible, provided they intend to return to work in Florida after graduation. The application process requires students to complete an online form, submit proof of Florida residency, provide transcripts, and include reference letters. The deadline for applications is March 6, 2026.
Why It's Important?
The scholarship program plays a crucial role in supporting the educational aspirations of students connected to the real estate industry in Florida. By providing financial assistance, the program helps alleviate the burden of college expenses, enabling students to pursue higher education. This initiative not only benefits the students but also strengthens the real estate community by encouraging the next generation to consider careers in the industry. The requirement for students to return to Florida after graduation ensures that the state retains skilled individuals who can contribute to its economic growth and development.
What's Next?
As the application deadline approaches, students and their families are encouraged to gather the necessary documentation and complete the application process. The Education Foundation's Board of Directors will review applications, considering factors such as academic achievements, financial need, and leadership qualities. Successful applicants will be notified, and scholarships will be awarded starting at $1,000. The program's continuation and potential expansion depend on the ongoing support and funding from the Florida Realtors community.
