What's Happening?
The Naperville Park District, in collaboration with Accelerate Climate Solutions, is hosting the inaugural Great Gear Swap from March 16-20 at the Fort Hill Activity Center. This event allows residents to donate gently-used sports equipment, which can
then be exchanged for other items using vouchers. The initiative aims to recycle sports gear, reducing landfill waste and the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing new equipment. The event is modeled after a successful program in Glen Ellyn and seeks to make sports more affordable for families while supporting environmental sustainability. Donated items that are not sold will be given to local and international organizations, ensuring they benefit children both locally and overseas.
