What's Happening?
An art project has taken over a newspaper kiosk at the West Fourth Street subway station in Manhattan, offering free zines and guides to several subway stations. Created by Al Mullen, the project is part of the MTA's Vacant Unit Activation Program, which
allows artists to use unused spaces in the subway system. The kiosk features a 'train aura' photo booth and lucky rat foot keychains, aiming to provide a whimsical experience for subway riders. Mullen plans to stock the kiosk with guides to all 472 subway stations and host various events, including puppet shows and live music.
