What's Happening?
Med Marine, a prominent Turkish shipbuilder and tug operator, has successfully launched the MED-A2800SD tugboat on August 23. This marks the third vessel in the six-unit RAmparts 2800 series ASD fleet being constructed for Tunisia's port authority, OMMP. The launch took place at Med Marine's Eregli Shipyard, highlighting the ongoing progress of the fleet project. The tugboat, designed by Robert Allan Ltd., measures 28.20 meters in length and offers a bollard pull of 60 tonnes. It is powered by twin medium-speed diesel engines and complies with Class FIFI-E standards, ensuring operational excellence and safety. The vessel is capable of performing various operations, including towing, mooring, escorting, firefighting, pollution control, and coastal support.
