What's Happening?
Sodium-cooled reactors are becoming a focal point in the U.S. nuclear energy landscape, with TerraPower's Natrium plant in Wyoming leading the charge. This 345-megawatt reactor, co-founded by Bill Gates, is designed to operate with a molten salt tank,
allowing output to increase to 500 megawatts when needed. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved its construction permit, marking the first for a commercial non-light-water reactor in over 40 years.
