What's Happening?
Michigan State University Extension, in collaboration with the MSU Center for Regenerative Agriculture, conducted a webinar series in February 2026 focusing on regenerative agriculture. The sessions aimed to educate farmers, educators, and landowners
on practices that promote healthier soils and more resilient rural communities. The series emphasized six key principles of regenerative agriculture, including maintaining living roots in the soil, minimizing soil disturbance, and integrating livestock. A significant takeaway was the connection between land practices and water bodies, highlighting how activities on land can affect lakes, streams, and wetlands. Erick Elgin, an aquatic ecologist, explained the concept of a watershed and its impact on water quality.
