What's Happening?
The Preston Mitchum Jr Foundation, in collaboration with AAA, is organizing a school supply drive to support students in Baltimore. The initiative is aimed at collecting essential items such as backpacks, hygiene products, pencils, binders, lunch boxes,
and clothing for students aged 5 to 17. This effort is in preparation for the upcoming 2026-27 school year, ensuring that students have the necessary supplies to succeed academically. The foundation and AAA are reaching out to the community to contribute to this cause, highlighting the importance of community support in educational success.
Why It's Important?
This initiative is crucial as it addresses the educational needs of underprivileged students in Baltimore, a city where many families may struggle to afford school supplies. By providing these essential items, the Preston Mitchum Jr Foundation and AAA are helping to level the playing field for students who might otherwise start the school year at a disadvantage. This effort not only supports individual students but also contributes to the broader goal of educational equity, which is vital for community development and reducing long-term socio-economic disparities.
