Harris attended the University of Illinois and American University, later graduating from Howard University Dental School. He established his own practice, Suburban Periodontics, and was admired for his professional work and the care he provided to his patients. Harris was also passionate about golf, horse breeding, and model railroads, and he enjoyed traveling with his wife. His culinary skills were a source of joy for his family and friends, and his home was a hub of hospitality and warmth. Harris is survived by his brother Scott Harris, his nephew Hugh Harris, niece Sophie Harris Vorhoff, and several great-nephews and nieces.
