The Home Office has reported the arrest of five individuals at two restaurants in Hereford, England, as part of an immigration enforcement operation. The establishments, Jalsagor and Taste of Raj, located on St Owen Street, were visited by Immigration
Enforcement Officers on December 11. At Jalsagor, one Bangladeshi male was arrested on suspicion of immigration offenses. At Taste of Raj, four Bangladeshi males were detained, two for overstaying their visas and two for breaching bail conditions. The Home Office has referred both restaurants to the Civil Penalty Compliance Team for further action. A spokesperson for the Home Office emphasized that illegal working undermines honest employers, undercuts local wages, and fuels organized immigration crime. The government has increased enforcement actions nationwide, with a 63% rise in illegal working arrests.
