Three individuals, Jazmin Houck, Sarah Vida, and 9-year-old Kayden Kovalcik, who went missing during a tubing trip on the Muskegon River, were found alive after 72 hours in the wilderness. The rescue was facilitated by Michigan State Police and Department
of Natural Resources officers who tracked child footprints with a K-9 unit. The trio was located near the Mill Iron Boat Launch in Muskegon County. They were dehydrated and exhausted but are expected to recover after being taken to the hospital for evaluation.
