What's Happening?
NASA has decided to use Tesla's Cybertrucks as emergency evacuation vehicles for the upcoming SpaceX Crew-13 mission to the International Space Station. This decision replaces the previously used Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAPs), which
are heavily armored military vehicles. The Cybertrucks, known for their speed and ease of use while wearing gloves, will be used to transport astronauts away from the launchpad in case of an emergency. The Crew-13 mission, scheduled for September 12, 2026, will carry four astronauts to the ISS aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
