What's Happening?
The European Commission has finalized plans for the IRIS² satellite network, intended to provide secure broadband services for government users in the EU and other countries. The network will consist of 348 satellites, with the first launches planned
for 2029. This initiative aims to enhance Europe's capabilities in defense, security, and emergency services, offering an alternative to SpaceX's Starlink.
