Fanatics and lululemon have announced an expansion of their NHL fan gear collection for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The collaboration will include more than 20 new apparel styles for both men and women, such as half zips, hoodies, and T-shirts, along with accessories like bags, bottles, and hats. The gear will be available on various online platforms, including lululemon.com, Fanatics.com, NHLShop.com, and NHLShop.ca, as well as the online stores of all 32 NHL teams. Select in-arena team stores and Lids-operated locations in nearly every NHL market will also carry the apparel. Celeste Burgoyne, president of Americas and global guest innovation at lululemon, emphasized the cultural significance of hockey and the opportunity for fans to express team pride through premium products.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of the NHL fan gear collection by Fanatics and lululemon is significant as it taps into the cultural and commercial aspects of hockey in the U.S. By offering a wider range of apparel and accessories, the collaboration aims to enhance fan engagement and loyalty, potentially boosting sales and brand visibility for both companies. This move also reflects the growing trend of sports merchandise becoming a fashion statement, allowing fans to showcase their team spirit in everyday settings. The partnership could lead to increased revenue for the NHL and its teams, as well as for Fanatics and lululemon, by attracting a broader audience and catering to diverse consumer preferences.
What's Next?
As the 2025-26 NHL season approaches, fans can expect to see the new gear available across multiple retail channels, including online and in physical stores. The collaboration may lead to further innovations in fan merchandise, potentially incorporating new designs or technologies to enhance the fan experience. Stakeholders such as NHL teams, Fanatics, and lululemon will likely monitor consumer feedback and sales performance to assess the success of the expanded collection. Future collaborations or expansions could be influenced by the reception of this initiative, shaping the direction of sports merchandise in the fashion industry.
