on February 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event will concentrate on workforce trends specific to Alberta, including recruitment and retention strategies, and the challenges currently faced by employers in the province. The session will also present findings from Trucking HR Canada's Alberta MELT graduate study. The bootcamp will feature interactive discussions and a workforce development panel with representatives from top fleet employers such as Bison Transport, Caron Transportation Systems, and Trimac. Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada, emphasized the importance of these sessions in supporting the trucking and logistics sector across different regions.
Why It's Important?
The launch of the Workforce Bootcamp by Trucking HR Canada is significant as it addresses the pressing labor challenges within the trucking and logistics industry, particularly in Alberta. By focusing on regional workforce trends and providing a platform for industry peers to collaborate, the bootcamp aims to enhance recruitment and retention strategies, which are critical for sustaining the sector's growth. The initiative also highlights the importance of understanding local labor market dynamics, which can lead to more effective workforce planning and policy-making. As the trucking industry is a vital component of the national economy, improving workforce conditions can have a positive ripple effect on supply chain efficiency and economic stability.
What's Next?
Following the initial session in Calgary, Trucking HR Canada plans to expand the Workforce Bootcamp series to other regions throughout 2026 and beyond. The organization will announce additional dates and locations, aiming to tailor each session to the specific needs and challenges of different areas.
