What's Happening?
Embraer has initiated the construction of a new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on October
20, 2025, marking a significant expansion of Embraer's U.S. operations. The facility is expected to be completed by 2027 and will enhance Embraer's capacity to serve its E-Jet customers in the U.S. by 53%. The investment in this state-of-the-art hangar is anticipated to reach up to $70 million and is projected to create approximately 250 new skilled aviation jobs in the region. This development follows Embraer's collaboration with the City of Fort Worth, Denton County, and the State of Texas, where operations began in an existing hangar at Alliance Airport in June.
Why It's Important?
The construction of the new MRO facility in Fort Worth is a strategic move by Embraer to strengthen its presence in the U.S. aviation market. By expanding its infrastructure, Embraer aims to meet the growing demand for its E-Jet series, particularly the E175 model, which has become popular among U.S. regional carriers. The investment not only signifies Embraer's long-term commitment to the U.S. market but also contributes to the local economy by creating new jobs and enhancing Fort Worth's reputation as a hub for aviation and advanced manufacturing. This expansion is expected to support the continued strong demand for Embraer's aircraft, as evidenced by recent orders from major regional operators like SkyWest, Envoy Air, and Piedmont Airlines.
What's Next?
As the construction progresses, Embraer will likely focus on integrating the new facility into its global network of service centers, which includes over 80 Authorized Service Centers and 13 Embraer-owned Service Centers. The completion of the Fort Worth facility by 2027 will enable Embraer to better serve its U.S. customers and potentially attract more orders for its E-Jet series. Stakeholders, including local government and business leaders, are expected to monitor the project's impact on the regional economy and job market closely. Additionally, Embraer's expansion may prompt other aviation companies to consider similar investments in the area, further boosting Fort Worth's status as a key player in the aviation industry.
