What's Happening?
The City of Albuquerque has launched two new speed cameras and plans to activate two more in early August. The new cameras are operational on southbound Tramway near Lomas and westbound Paseo Del Norte west of Barstow. The additional cameras will be located
at Coors and St. Joseph’s. Since the start of the project in 2022, the city has installed 38 speed cameras, resulting in significant reductions in speeding. Data shows a 54.7% to 96.2% decrease in drivers exceeding the speed limit by over 10 mph and a 0.6 mph to 8.8 mph decrease in average driver speed. The locations were selected based on crash data and local feedback.
