What's Happening?
High school culinary teams from across North Texas participated in the annual Taste of Cowboys Challenge held at The Star in Frisco. The event required teams to prepare a three-course meal for a panel
of judges. The winning team was awarded $10,000 for its culinary program, and the top two dishes will be featured as concession items for the Dallas Cowboys. The event, emceed by CBS Texas’ Robbie Owens, also serves as a fundraiser for local causes.
Why It's Important?
The Taste of Cowboys Challenge provides significant opportunities for high school culinary students, offering them a platform to showcase their skills and gain recognition. The $10,000 prize can greatly enhance the resources available to the winning school's culinary program, potentially improving educational outcomes. Additionally, the event strengthens community ties by supporting local causes and engaging students in real-world culinary experiences.
