Streameast, Largest Illegal Sports Streaming Service, Shut Down After Sting Operation

Streameast, the largest illegal sports streaming platform, has been shut down following a year-long investigation by a US-based anti-piracy group. The platform offered free access to 80 unauthorized domains, allowing users to pirate live sports events, including matches from the Premier League, Champions League, NFL, NBA, and MLB. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), a coalition of over 50 global entertainment companies, cooperated with Egyptian law enforcement to execute a sting operation on August 24. Two men were arrested in Sheikh Zayed City, Egypt, on suspicion of copyright infringement, and laptops and smartphones were seized. Investigators discovered links between Streameast and a shell company in the UAE used to launder over $6 million in advertising revenue.
