What's Happening?
Richland County Transit (RCT) and the Richland County Regional Planning Commission (RCRPC) have introduced a new bike grant program called 'Wheels to Work'. This initiative aims to assist residents in accessing expanded transit services for employment
purposes. The program will provide four commuter bicycles, complete with safety and maintenance equipment, to selected individuals who need reliable transportation to maintain their jobs. The RCT Flex service, which recently extended its operating hours to better accommodate work schedules, is a key component of this initiative. The program targets individuals living more than a half-mile from RCT Flex routes who lack dependable transportation options. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate the ability to ride a bicycle safely. Priority will be given to those who are employed or have a verified job offer and intend to use the bike for commuting to weekday shifts.
