What's Happening?
Venture Global has received the final non-Free Trade Agreement (non-FTA) export authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy for its CP2 LNG facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. This approval allows the company to export liquefied natural gas (LNG)
to countries without free-trade agreements with the United States, broadening the reach of U.S. LNG to key markets in Europe and Asia. The CP2 project, adjacent to the existing Calcasieu Pass facility, is designed to produce 20 million metric tons per annum (MMtpa) of LNG. This development is part of Venture Global's extensive portfolio, which includes over 100 MMtpa of U.S. LNG capacity. The project incorporates carbon capture and sequestration technologies to minimize emissions.
