Maryland has announced its 2026 Tax-Free Week, scheduled from August 9 to August 15, offering residents a chance to save on back-to-school shopping. During this period, the state's 6% sales tax will not apply to qualifying clothing and footwear priced
at $100 or less per item. Additionally, the first $40 of a backpack's purchase price will be exempt from sales tax.
