During the annual Celebration of Catholic Schools in-service, hosted at Christ the King Parish and School in Madisonville, Bishop William F. Medley encouraged teachers and administrators to help students reflect the light of Christ. The event, coordinated
by the Diocese of Owensboro’s Catholic Schools Office, began with a Mass presided over by Bishop Medley. In his homily, the Bishop emphasized that students will reflect the light of Christ if their teachers do the same. The in-service also featured Mary Katherine Wathen, founder of West of Perfection, as the keynote speaker, who focused on self-leadership. The day concluded with a commitment ceremony and the announcement of Kendal Williams, a first-grade teacher at Holy Name of Jesus School, as the 2026 Outstanding Catholic Educator of the Year.
